Buffalo alfalfa is an older variety known for its winter hardiness and affordability. Deep rooted and drought tolerant. produces best on well-drained soil with good water holding capacity and pH of 6.5 or above. Most commonly used in a mix with forage grasses for pasture, as a green manure cover crop, as a pollinator attractant crop for honey bees, or for hay production.  It is long-lived and drought resistant. To ensure Buffalo Alfalfa gets off to a great start the seed is coated with phosphate based 34% coating that helps improve early seedlings development and protects the inoculant and fungicide treatments.
