Browntop millet is an effective nurse crop in stabilizing erosive hill slopes and providing cover for slower growing species to become established. Browntop Millet performs grows best in well drained soils. The main two uses for this millet are rapid forage production and wildlife food plots such as ducks, dove, quail, turkey, deer, and pheasant.
